Cuopugou, an unexplored secret place, there are hot springs, snow-capped mountains, forests, temples, canyons, grasslands, marmots, holy lakes, and naked carps... I have been there before with my fellow travellers, and I still have more thoughts. . At that time, I thought that this place must come again, with my wife and children.
Enter the ditch from Cuola Township and enter the bumpy dirt road after about ten kilometers. Although the sun is shining, the temperature of Cuopugou is less than 20 degrees.
The native hot springs in the gorge are right next to the snow-capped mountains and streams. It is cold and hot.
There are several wild hot springs on the hillside, and we came prepared this time.
Hot spring boiled eggs
It seems that the firepower is very fierce, and the actual temperature is about 80°. This is also the reason why the food on the plateau is difficult to cook. You should bring a pressure cooker.
The eggs I boiled are well received. Reference value: sunny day, 9 minutes, 8 minutes cooked. Please add half a minute on cloudy days and one minute on rainy days. 😊
The crowd was stunned
Hot spring eggs, you deserve it.
Canyon streams along the way
This kind of scenery is quite common in western Sichuan
We didn't even bother to get off the car, so we took a few pictures.
After turning a bend, I suddenly saw a snow-capped mountain, which is the Nitgangri Peak 5833 meters above sea level.
Bounce forward on the road full of cannonball pits, stop and go, about an hour and a half later, I saw Zajinjiabo sacred mountain.
A group of yaks are crossing the river
Plateau version "Hundred Niu Crossing the River"
There is also snow in Zajinjiabo sacred mountain
Zhangde Prairie
A dirt road on the grassland extends below the sacred mountain, and occasionally you need to pass a wooden bridge, or you can choose to wade across the water to wash away all the dust.
Faced with the snow-capped mountains, the Mobile Party said it had done its best.
Mount Zakinjabo
This dirt road is really covered in mud on a rainy day and grey on a sunny day. Fortunately, there are few vehicles along the way. Friends traveling together must fight to be the leader, you know.
When I came last time I saw a marmot under this boulder and fed two pieces of bread, but now I can’t find it. It is said that the lifespan of marmots is very short, and suddenly I feel a little bit sad.
To reach the Cuopu Lake, you need to cross a wading road (or walk a wooden bridge).
Tsopu Sacred Lake, an emerald on the plateau.
The Cuopu Lake is crystal clear, but there are many fish. "If the water is clear, there will be no fish".
The fish in Lake Cuopu are "obedient", as long as they make a "woo-woo" sound, the school of fish will swim over.
It is densely packed with fish. The local Tibetans regard these fishes as gods and do not wash their hands in the lake. It is said that they "think that these fish are the souls of their ancestors."
When the water is clear, there are no fish. The fish in Cuopu Lake can survive and reproduce in large numbers. The reason is "feeding the fish". The local Tibetan grandmother will feed the fish "Zaba", which looks like it is made of highland barley flour.
There is no board and lodging provided in Lake Cuopu, we continue to walk up the mountain, ready to see the "big mouse". However, after shouting for a long time, the marmot just couldn't come out. The locals said that they were "full of food" today and suggested that we come back at 5 o'clock in the afternoon.
It's still early, we decided to go to the primeval forest to see a few Xiaohaizi.
It coincides with the first day of the new year. In the past two days, many local people have come to the mountain. They all hiked from the lake to the Cuopu Monastery.
To find three Xiaohaizi in the primeval forest, you have to cross this wooden bridge first.
Worried about getting lost, I made a lot of marks along the way.
Sudden heavy rain
The rain was getting worse and worse. After seeing the first Haizi, we decided to retreat first. Even though we were wearing a windbreaker and under an umbrella, we were still wet.
The weather on the plateau changed quickly, and we decided to wait. The locals have long been accustomed to this kind of weather change, and hiked down the mountain with a cardboard box on their heads.
After the rain stopped, we entered the forest again.
This is the only way to reach the second Haizi
Need to turn over a pile of rocks
This is the "largest" of the three Xiaohaizi, and is located in the middle.
There are also many fish in the water, but they are very small, obviously because of lack of food.
You can also shout fish here
Feeding buns
Clouds in the water
Fish swimming in the clouds
It's raining again
Thinking of the "big mouse", hurry up and go.
However, the big mouse "Tashi" did not come out. It is said that he ate too much this morning, and it was raining, so he slept in the cave.
Because I didn't see "Tashi", I temporarily decided to stay for one night, so I went to Cuopu Monastery to stay overnight.
Cuo Phu Temple

It's still early
Taking advantage of the cooking time, I decided to go to the forest alone to go to the lake.
The temple rooms are in difficult conditions. Fortunately, we brought sheets and sleeping bags.
A group of campers came last night
At 8 o'clock in the morning, feed the "big mouse"
The scientific name of "big mouse" is marmot and groundhog, and the locals call it snow pig.
Keep a distance when feeding
Marmots may carry plague virus
There are many marmots on the prairie on the plateau. They are often seen along the way. Most of them cannot be approached. They will quickly escape and will never come out again when they get into the hole.
